CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER X FI TITANIUM FATAL1TY DRIVER
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

In audio creating the X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty over takes the RIVE by a large margin and for day to day usage again the X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty takes the cake but only by a small margin. This download supports the following devices only:Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series.Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series.Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Professional Audio.Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium.Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional Series.Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion Series.Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic.Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer.Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum.Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty.Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro.Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1.Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Karaoke.Sound Blaster X-Fi.Įnhancements:Added Microphone Reverb effect.Added controls for Silencer settings (for certain audio devices only).Improved controls for Wireless Music settings (for certain audio devices only).įixes: Display for X-Fi CMSS-3D settings is not synchronized.Display for mixer settings is not synchronized.Custom EQ option does not appear when adjusting EQ values.Text is truncated in certain menus.Error message does not appear when hot-plugging a 'Plug and Play' device.Error in VoiceFX presets selection.Unable to restore default volume settings.Unable to select the external decoder option automatically while Dolby Digital Live or DTS Connect is enabled in the encoder settings.Noise can be heard when enabling 'Use Built-in Decoder' and 'Dolby Digital Live' or 'DTS Connect'. If the card comes with the front I/O, then in my opinion the X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty takes this contest hands down. The X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty is marginally better to considerably better depending on the usage. If you are in to audio creation neither of them are that great yet the X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty does over take the onboard by a considerable margin.

I have not checked to see if the onboard has an included ASIO driver or if it is any good. The X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty has a decent ASIO driver included. It also has some fast connect input ports and looks pretty nice. You also get access to some of the cards special features from the I/O panel allowing you to make changes on the fly without interfacing through a GUI. It has an auto sense feature and mic and speaker volume control. I also use the X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty front I/O panel for my microphone when on TS or Vent.

As far as gaming, I find the X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty at an advantage over the onboard audio. The RIVE onboard sound is good so if you are just looking to listen to music and watch some movies you are good to go. I have SoundBlaster X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty and it performs very well. It's up to you, hope that helps your decision.

I might upgrade my speakers and pass these on to my brother or something and pick up the newer logitech THX 5.1's. I know the Pheobus will be the card that'll make my speakers shine again. If your using a poor 2.1 setup I wouldn't bother with a good soundcard unless you see yourself getting a good pair of speakers or headsets in the future.įor me, I'm still using an old pair of Logitech Z-680s 5.1 THX Certified which pumps out 500watts, the onboard sound is enough for now. I'd only say a good sound card is only as good as the speakers and or the headsets your using. Creative is also known for poor driver support, but will still work. Should be better than any Creative card for gaming and multimedia sound. I say the X-Fi card would be better for games and everything else compared to the onboard sound, but I'll stick to my onboard sound until the new ASUS Xonar Phoebus is out. The difference between the X-Fi cards vs the Recon3D is mainly 7.1 vs 5.1 and some weaker specs compared to the older X-Fi card, but however it does have a headphone amp on the new Recon3D card. Most people/retailers are trying to sell their X-Fi cards as the new Creative Recon3D sound cards are out. If it's for gaming and movies the onboard sound for the R4E is good enough for some/most, but I wouldn't put it on par with a top notch sound card. Depends on what you want out of your sound.
